  • Lawton/Fort Sill is located one hour southwest of Oklahoma City and three hours northwest of Dallas/Fort Worth.

  • The city of Lawton was founded in 1901 and is named for General Henry W. Lawton.

  • Lawton is the third largest city in Oklahoma with a population of over 92,000.  The current troop strength on Fort Sill is over 18,000, giving the Lawton/Fort Sill area a combined population of more that 110,000 people.

  • Fort Sill was founded in 1869 by Major Philip Sheridan and is home to the US Army Field Artillery Training Center.
